Install LibreOffice on Windows
LibreOffice is the most feature-rich office suite on the market that works equally well on Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems. Equally well means that the same version of LibreOffice has the features and applications on all the operating systems it runs on.

This page gives installation instructions for installing it on Windows.
Typical install
LibreOffice is an easy set of applications to install on Windows. The installer that is downloaded from LibreOffice's Website is only a four-step wizard, if the Typical installation is performed. The below instructions guide users through the typical installation. There is also a video that gives instructions for the Typical installation.

Detailed instructions
1. Double click the Windows Installer
The Windows installer will most likely be in the Downloads folder in Windows' directory. This is the default location most Web browsers download to.

OS-College has videos and written instructions about changing the download to folder for several different Web browsers. These are Chrome/Chromium, Edge, Firefox, Brave, Opera, and Safari.
2. Click Next on Welcome page

There are not any settings on the Welcome page. It simply gives some basic information about LibreOffice and the Document Foundation. Click the Next button to go to the page 2 in the installation wizard.
3. If Typical selected, click Next

The Typical choice will install the suite and all of its components. It will give you language settings and dictionaries that match your operating system's language setup. Choosing Typical, then clicking Next takes you to the final page.

Choosing custom, by clicking the radio button for it, will take the user to page with two menus of the different options. The different choices and settings are explained on this page.
4. Choose shortcut and Start up. Then click Install

There are two check boxes on this page.
The first, Create a shortcut on the desktop, most likely has a check in it. A check in it means that a LibreOffice icon will be placed on the desktop. Click it to remove the check, if a desktop icon is not desired.

The second check box, if it has a check in it, would mean that LibreOffice launches automatically when Windows boots. Click the check box to place a check in it, if you want LibreOffice to open when the system boots.

After choosing these two, click the Install button, at the bottom of the dialog to start the installation. It will take a few minutes for LibreOffice install.
5. Confirm changes

After the Install button is clicked, the installation will start. Shortly after it starts, a dialog will appear asking if you want to make changes to Windows. Click Yes.
6. Click Finish

After the installation process finishes, the wizard will indicate that the installation has finished. Click the Finish button.
