Word for Windows is the most popular and arguably the most powerful word processor on the market. This Web page lists links to various pages about Word on the OS-College Website.

There are 11 ribbons, and 10 listed below in this section. File switches away from the document to the backstage document manager. This is why it is listed separately from the below list. The ribbons are Word's main user interface, where users can access all the functions and controls in Word.

 

In addition to the ribbons there are context menus and side menus where settings can be found.

Other Features

Comments

Comments are associated with content in a document (text, pictures, and other items). Click the button below to learn more about comments.

Status bar

Word count, zooming into a document and other info is located at the bottom of the document window. The button allows you to learn more.

Search

The search box is at the top of the document window that allows users to search through features and functions of Word and the document's contents.

Modes

There are three modes that a document can be set to. The default is Editing. Reviewing and Viewing are the other two. Click the button to learn more.

Accounts

The account icon allows users to view the information of the account Word is logged into. It also allows logging into a second account.
